Feliks Echo
Nice! I’m curious which of your cans pair especially well with the Echo.
R70x with fenestrated sheepskin pads and Auteur with Eikon pads pair really well with the Echo. Both sounded punchier and more filled out.
VO sounded a little thick, but a pad swap might change that, I currently have the BE2 pads on.
I haven’t dared to try the VC on it yet, figure it will knock my head off.
That’s funny.
It seems like a set of ZMF non-Verite headphones paired with the Echo are a most formidable pairing.
Hifiman is strange, they put QC inspection on the box. My HE6SE came with kinks on the cable and it’s brand new. It’s pretty crazy, I contacted them and they immediately send new cables which had no issue. But as I told them, if someone spent a 1000 on their products how could they provide a cable in such a condition. Like how could you miss that?
The cable had like 4 5 solid kinks. Just going to keep those new ones on the side.
Second to that, I mean we got 4 different versions, like why wouldn’t you update the cable after all this time. Are those cables so outstanding they never considered this
You just won the tube lottery, my friend!
There’s something so compelling about a bunch of tubes (all those little sonic gems to explore).
I can tell you that’s exactly what it felt like. It was even more satisfying to sort them all out and make my OCD happy ;D
gratulerer

my aryas came with the headband already scraped, known issue and not a huge deal, didnt expect them to put up that presentation as i were unboxing it for the first time though as i expected to develope that wear and tear myself.
unboxing a headphone that is 1500usd and already have signs of use really sucks and makes your head spin, no way of knowing if it was just the reseller selling Open Box as new so it could be them also which im starting to believe more and more because they are playing dumb to the photo proof i sent them which is this picture right here
they also have a slight channel imbalance of about 3-5db so that makes the case stronger that it could be a pre-owned pair that is being sold as brand new. It’s complicated
TL;DR
i feel like hifigo.com is slowly tapping away at me through the denial until i stop mailing them. they only offered me a refund of 70% and thats really the issue, i elevated my case only a couple of hours after i retrieved it from the postal service so its not like i had been using it
They only gave you 70% and you had to return them? Why didn’t you contact HiFiman. When I purchase anything expensive I unbox it on camera. I’m not trying to hear any bs, especially if it is covered under manu warranty.
I see a lot of deals, but this is exactly why I would pay extra for warranty. A lot of these crazy deals I’ve seen are always not covered or sold by unauthorized retailer. Plus hand in hand, expensive product means expensive repairs. All your savings go down the drain, not limited to everything you’ve invested.
i didnt return them. Ive been debating wheter or not i should contact hifiman. im still going back and forth trying to get these people out of denial that the headband in the picture is scraped, because they are very wishy washy about the clarity of the picture because i dont think they want to deal with this situation at all, im very respectful and calm about it still so hopefully they turn around on it but if not i may very well contact hifiman. i even have proof that i contacted hifigo.com (the resellers) only hours after i opened the package because when you retrieve a package here you get proof of retrieval
im ranting, this is not the thread for this so lets end it here
This is terrible. I really feel for you. I hope you get it resolved satisfactorily.
thank you for that prfallon and thanks for reading.
if the arya was not 2300usd in every single shop in norway i may have bought it locally lol, the clear is also 2300usd. Norway btw
oh crap i just checked for the HD800s as well just out of curiousity and those are also 2300usd. it was bad before the pandemic but now its terrible
I wish I had know that you were after a pair of HD800S. I sold a pristine condition set that I have owned for 10 months and had only 2 hours use on them. I sold them for £800.
haha, yeah that would’ve been amazing for me.
I am not on the lookout for them i was just getting curious to check right now, because of the hifi prices in Norway spinning out of control but the HD800s are in the back of my mind, if i do get another headphone the 800s is a natural fit for me to get an immersive 3d audio space experience, would have jumped on a that deal.
New Aeon 2’s announced though, always thought the build, weight and alleged comfort were really appealing. They state they elevated the bass and the treble a bit on them compared to the previous one
third time is the charm?

Oh well hopefully you will get lucky with whatever you wish to purchase next. Good luck.
Per my experience with the HiFiMan HE-560, this worries me far more than the scratches. My drivers started to sound different a month or two before one driver died. Upon inspection, both drivers were deeply cracked.
I no longer trust or recommend HFM no matter how good they sound. Both Sennheiser and Focal have solid reliability.
I would return them and move on to another brand.
Hi Generic, thanks for chiming in!
i always knew Hifiman were iffy, if i do decide to contact Hifiman directly about all of this i will give you guys an update on it. should be interesting, i havent gone through their warranty details so im not sure if im covered on any of these two things, but i will make sure to ask. I heard Hifiman were looking at doing things with the failure rate of their sold units but i dont know, you always hear about one side dying on these. its scary and i totally get your stance it. if you are going to spend 1-2k on a pair of headphones it better be a near perfect failure rate, if not that then a solid warranty program
That is the reason why I have never bought a HFM, I just don’t want a HP in that price bracket to have so poor quality AND poor QC.
