Very cool, man! So, the order would be Brooklyn->MX-VNYL->Burson, yes? What is the benefit of going through the phono pre vs. straight from the DAC? Forgive me if this isn’t the place for that question.
Top Hat bell knobs cost $5.51 at Stewmac. Now they don’t perfectly match…but…glorious!

No worries. Sorry, should have mentioned the switcher.
I will run balanced out of my DAC to one input of the switch and balanced out of the Phono preamp to the switch. The out will then go to the Burson.

Here’s a video of the exact Wilson dealer, exact room, and the system I demoed. They have a single “listening throne,” and the sweet spot rapidly fades with a few feet of movement. It’s in downtown Bethesda, Maryland just north of DC. Some components may have been swapped out. The video says $500K but the store said $600K last fall.

Are you located in the DMV area? I saw this video and am not contemplating going to visit to see how a system like taht sounds.
Indeed, I work behind the counter at the DMV and make sure you have to wait 4 hours to get your Driver’s License. It’s our policy!
Yes. I’m in the DMV. That store is not big but caters to the Potomac area mega mansion market. They also carry high end headphones. The owner/salesman knew we weren’t seriously interested, but very friendly and eager to demo. He said he liked to run it and had put in a lot of work to maximize its performance (which is why I brought it up in this thread: setting up speakers is a major challenge relative to headphones).
He also said that the cables were something like $30K+ alone, and that they seriously made a difference in its performance (I guess so in requiring one jillion watts…). Dan D’Agostino equipment is stunning to see and touch. The metalwork, fit, and finish impressed me more than the speakers.

It’s finally my stop on the Empy tour and luckily I’ll be home this weekend to put them through their paces. Initial impressions with them is mostly positive so far and will give them much more time later tonight!

Bedside rig came in today. Quite handy actually.
I have finally used the 4.4mm cable that came with the HD660S. Q3 drove them beautifully, btw.

Thought about getting the Q3 for our editing Workstation at the Office.
But instead I Sold my old Q1 II to the company, where it drives 2 BD 240 Pro’s trough a 3.5mm AUX Splitter. So we can listen with 2 people in a noisy Environment to some recorded clips. It is just fine for this kinda solution.
Bought it when it came Out, though after a week I got a good deal on the Mojo and the xDSD. So the Fiio just layed around as Backup…
How do you like it so far?
Have you also tried to use it as AMP only yet?

I do like it. Very versatile.
Just did. Couldn’t spot any obvious differences between the two down below – i.e., direct from K3 jack out vs from K3 line out into Q3 (2.5mm). Volume levels were matched.
