He got stuck in some goo and can’t get out.
I figured he was busy trying to win at TIC-TAC-TOE
Shhhh… Minesweeper won’t win itself.
My first impression:
UMPF ,
I immediately replaced the tips with those with a larger bore.
The included silicone tips are much too bass-heavy.
After that, I would refer to this as Blessing 2 on steroids.
Heights: very pronounced without causing pain, good spatial perception.
The mids: clear, but slightly withdrawn.
The bass;
It takes getting used to, in order to be able to judge this better, I would like to give the Variations time to “burn in” if necessary and my ears to get used to it.
Why not run the audio through the Forge for first impressions?
I am tempted by these as I like the Aria, Starfield and Dusk, but I’m waiting for more long term reviews. I am looking forwards to reading you opinions later (and looking at the photos you use to describe them )
Having both the S8 and the Dusk, I don’t think this is needed. But I really like Moondrop IEMs, but at the price it has to be more different. And for that price I got the Oracle and that is different and a nice add-on for my two Moondrop IEMs.
S8 is certainly another contender on my list. I just seem to like Moondrop in general.
An IQAudio DAC Pro hat for my underused Raspberry Pi 4B (bottom, with a custom grip tape lid locator). This DAC uses a Texas Instruments PCM5242 chip.
First impression:
On the iPhone =
The sound is impressive, but it clicks every few seconds
On the iPad & iMac =
Sounds like I’m used to from Questyle;
Excellent.
But 600 ohm headphones to drive, as stated =
How long did it take from order to delivery? Asking for a friend with a VC LE on order…
Order placed on April 23rd, shipped from IL on July 2, and delivered to NY on July 5.
Congrats - they’re absolutely beautiful. Enjoy.
That’s such a cool setup together. Love the stand and headphone combo. Congrats!
I’ve been looking at these for a while. How do they sound?
Excellent. Strong impactful bass that is still tight. Present mids. Detailed highs. Soundstage, imaging, speed all good.
I bump the 3000hz up just a touch, 3-4db, but leave the rest.
On the PRO model I ran a lot more EQ to get to my preferences.
