Koss Porta Pro-Unofficial Thread

Mine showed up within two weeks, I ordered direct from the website, but Amazon should be similar time frames

I am going to order direct tonight, amazon says expected delivery date end of February unless itā€™s been updated lol!

Even with free prime shipping, it was cheaper ordering direct from Yaxi when I purchased mine. Might want to price check before you pull the trigger.

Will do, thank you!

Just found this post in another thread. Awesome video.

I just recently watched the Bertā€™s Reviews, and I really enjoyed them!

I hope he hasnā€™t retired the channel as itā€™s been several months since the last review. Good stuff!

The Yaxis really make a difference. It kicks an already fun sounding headphone up a notch.

Not sure if Iā€™d want to change the headband, as the Yaxi pads already provide a more comfortable (less pressure) fit.

@Torq returns to the Porta Pro takeover!

I use KSC75 drivers on my portapro band, and yaxi pads. Replaced the cable too. Wicked headphones.

Thatā€™s awesome! Well done.

INTERESTING.

Whatā€™s the driver size? Now Iā€™m thinking that ā€œsleeperā€ headphones should a thing.

Thinking of fitting Porta Pro with some RAAL drivers?

I believe the size of PortaPro drivers is 35mm. Ditto for KSC75.

Weā€™ve both had worse ideas.

Man I want to do this cable replacement! One thing I dislike about the Porta Pros is the inferior cables.

Itā€™s as though theyā€™re designed to fail!

Iā€™ve actually sent in a couple of pairs due to the cables separating for replacement via the lifetime warranty. It works. Theyā€™ll send you a new pair in a non ā€˜consumerā€™ package, similar to Amazonā€™s frustration-free packaging. All I had to pay was shipping that was less than $10 for the two pairs I sent in.

I wonder how an ofc, or even a silver cable would change the sound quality?

Check out this guide to adding MMCX connectors so that you can easily switch out the cable:

This is awesome, thank you!

You can read more about it here. I have read that the Kramer mod (drilling extra holes in the grill) isnā€™t worth it and that according to before and after measurements there is not much of a difference.

Thanks. Iā€™m more interested in the detachable cables.
