Thank you @andris and @Nuance for your kind words. I removed some clutter to take this photo and make room for the stand. Most of my headphones live in cases, which makes matching easier. Now that I’m a member of club ZMF, I ought to find an amp with wood paneling…
I saw the following setup on head-fi (see here) and thought it offered a neat solution to my problem of having cats on the loose in our apartment: with this system I could keep headphones in a couple of display boxes, open up some space by having them up on the wall, and have them be readily available. I’ll probably put my own version of this together in the new year:
What a beautiful display. It’s a great idea you should definately copy it @Tchoupitoulas. Some headphones are truly works of art. It makes sense to show them off like this.
A new cable for my Hifiman Sundara arrived today from Hart. More of a usability upgrade than anything else as it is a lot more flexible than the stock cable.
This was my entire system until a few days ago. Though I usually use the Hugo2 with the Utopia. I’ve been pretty happy with this for a few years now. But obviously the rack has room for some goodies that will be coming soon…
It’s true I was happy before, but wow, just wow. The LTA MZ3 was a huge step up from the Hugo2’s headphone output (which is pretty powerful on its own). The main difference is in the bass, which opened up and grew in so many ways. The MZ3 was / is meant to hold me over until my Stellaris arrives (Oct. 2022). The setup in the pic is somewhat temporary as my cable orders have yet to arrive.
I have more goodies arriving and the Hugo2 will be replaced before the end of the year (fingers crossed).
Looks awesome!
The MZ3 looks a lot bigger in your picture than on their web site, both the amp and the Power Supply. The latter doesn’t look like the one LTA offer, is there a difference?
