Laughed out loud when I read this !!!…oh man, can I relate! I keep my perusing of equipment on the DL unless I want to here a lot of “Are you *#%*ing kidding me?” and “Don’t you dare!”
Little does she know I’m only in the wading pool of gear atm.
This is where you learn about what the other person is into. For most women, comparing shoes or purses is good go to place, especially purses. Some of them are insanely expensive like top tier headphones.
I don’t have a significant other, but I’ve gotten the “stupid” when others have heard what I spent on some of gear–home theater, guitar, model trains, other electronics. I will point I don’t own more then ten pairs of shoes, which they have a couple hundred.
GAS (gear acquiring syndrome) is very real.

Overall I like it. I haven’t used it was some good headphones. Only Steelseries Arctics 3 Bluetooth gaming headphones. It did have some improvement, but far from earth shattering. They do get a little louder. This could be limit of the source material or the headphone’s driver. I wasn’t not expecting it to be so small in physical size. What a difference from old portable headphone amp from back in the early 2000s that used four AAA batteries.
It finally arrived Monday morning
Steelseries Arctics 3 Bluetooth (gaming headset) vs Focual Stellia
Fired them up today and got a harsh reminder how long I’ve been listening to cheap headsets. The Soundpeats H1s are not bad, but not at the same level. Granted, I wasn’t expecting audio glory from the cheap headsets because I bought cheap incase they got ruined or stolen at gym or about town.
Enjoy! I have the Utopias and couldn’t be happier. I think about the Stellias as a closed-back option. I currently have the ZMF VCs, which are gorgeous, and wonder whether you or others have listened to both and have a comparison to offer.
I have not. I did not test listen to the Stellia. I based my decision purely from others reviews and impressions. I have an idea what I like, and took, some, leap of faith that was the said would match accordingly.
I have been enjoying the Stellia’s thus far.
Was going to go with a couple of S.A.P. Audio Relaxa’s but ended up with these Audio Bastion X-Rack’s:

I’m right now!
Well, I got the CRBNs in which I ordered back in december but didn’t get used until last night as I was away from home. Sadly there certainly seems to be something wrong with them, but I’m in touch with Audeze and they have great support so I will see how that goes. Can’t offer any sound impressions so far sadly.
They certainly look and feel awesome though!
Finally have the recommended product for polishing up my collection of ZMFs! Because there is no way to get any seller to ship to Hawaii since it’s both pressurized and flammable, I had to send it to a relative in CA and sent it USPS by ship when I was in CA in early February, and 5 weeks later here it is. Zach of course recommended some other products I could get, but really wanted to get my hands on his top recommendation.
Nice and totally worth the effort, as it will make your ZMF’s look brand new! I just polished up my VC and Atticus with the Penthouse Polish and they look absolutely fantastic. In fact, this product works so well it’s a bit startling at first. Good stuff no doubt!
I know sound preference is variable, but I was actually pleased with them. Actually believe I used that very same amp to power them as well. That’s head amp?
Probably just a bad pair hopefully
Have been long time user of Pi2AES and Digione Signature. This is my first DDC as I plan to get external clock in future and this DDC will allow me to use one.
I’ll do you a favor and take your Utopia off your hands if the 6XX is going to be your new daily driver.
After you get his Utopia, I’ll trade it with you for my Kustom TOTL PortaPro. One of a kind. You can’t beat it.

Ok, so thanks to the very helpful headphones.com team (@taronlissimore @netforce @andrew thanks dudes! ) I’ve gotten the replacement pair of CRBN in today, as well as a pair of Shangri-La Sr I’m borrowing for a for short while. The CRBNs seem to be working totally fine, so I definitely do think there was something up with my original pair.
I’ll report back about both after I get some time in with them
