Thanks. I don’t seem to be able to start a new thread. Is this because I am a new member and need to have certain number of posts before I can do so? Just that I have a headphones related question that I thought some experts here might be able to help with.
Yes, that’s why you can’t start a new thread.
If it’s a general headphone question (i.e. one that is very specific to one situation/issue and/or not one that’s likely to be of broad interest), the best place to put it is in “The General Advice/Questions” thread.
Welcome @DizzyDaMan. Great to have you here!
Hi. You’re doing fine. New here myself.
Thanks!!
You certainly have come to the right place. There is a wealth of knowledge that is given to all that want it as well as we will learn from you. Welcome!
Hi and welcome @DizzyDaMan.
Hi. Reading your posts a lot during the holidays. Audiophile since the 70’s. AV tech since 80’s. Acoustat surround sound in home theater. BeyerDT990, Audio Technica ATH50X and Hifiman 500 headphones. Recently ifi nano idsd bl DAC. LGV30 cell phone to experiment with MQA.
@Nostromo congrats-- my CFO won’t let me retire says I’ll have too much time on my hands so I still see patients Mon-Thurs and every other Sat from 1 to 5
I would highly recommend Sennheiser RS-195 wireless or HD 598’s use them both and my CFO loves the RS-195s

Hello from sunny Naples, FL
We love good music here in Florida. While I hope to increase my knowledge concerning headphones and headphone amps, I also hope I can be a able contributor.
Hi and welcome!!! Love you city, beautiful and quiet .
Got to go to work soon. Work of course is a labor of love. I’ll be doing the audio in a small breakout room on a show at a hotel in Ft Lauderdale/Miami area for the next few days. Normal field phones with me are a modified with different ear pads and head foam and duct tape as the Audio Technica ATHM50X’s orange (insert gradually raising voice for anger effect here) faux plether plastic disintegrated within A YEAR! Calming down.
Anyway I use them during shows to reference the source. Kind of double check what I hear going into the system in comparison to what comes out. I also have the Bose IEM noise cancelling 20’s with me as well as earplugs in case I’m on a loud club sound show. As well as Beyer DT990’s and other headphones in the trunk of the car for more variables depending on the show. Not sure if this kind of info is of interest to anyone. First time I ever opened an info paragraph on what I do Publicly.
Hello and welcome @nooac. Great to have you here Scott.
Welcome @nooac!
Just got an invite to this forum from a friend on Hardware Junkies. Thank you for being here
The light stuff
Professional working in the game industry (producer) and currently obsessed with the positive trend of affordable pro-audio headphones providing a feasible alternative for a generation of gamers not able to afford, logistically cannot manage, or simply not interested in traditional home theatre. It’s a good time in the industry to love headphones…so much good stuff on the market.
Headphones are how I keep my sanity between my ears
Being on the road and in production on 3-4 shows throughout the year, late nights at home and long days on the road keep me away from flexing my home audio gear. Portable DAC/AMP and affordable, high-end headphones have been a boon. Auditioning a pair of M1060s and going to actually try travelling with these head pillows vs. my M50s, MSR7s, Beyr DT770s (okay those weren’t really portable), or any of the Sony/Senn/Grados I could borrow from my production team while backstage.
Looking to learn
Hoping to learn about everything headphones, but also looking to learn about the commercial audio SOURCES that people are using to showcase their gear. Not everyone can carry around a THX AAA portable amp or a library of 384kHz content, so I’d like to know what you’re actually listening to for reference.
Hello everyone from the other side of WA state, Spokane, where we enjoy a full run of 4 seasons. I’ve been an audiophile for a long, long time but have not participated in audio forums of any kind until recently. So far I’m really impressed with the friendly, professional nature of the group here.
Thanks for helping expand my enjoyment of personal audio. Any and all enablers welcome!
Right now, I am waiting on my Senn HD800s to arrive and replace my Cardas A8 ear speakers (IEMs). Both fed/powered by an Ayre CODEX and TIDAL (for most of my music yet still searching for other sources).
I’m presently fighting the urge to upgrade the CODEX as well.

You got that right. This is the best audio forum I have ever had the privilege to be a part of.
